Director's Note
As we transition from the depths of winter to the promise of spring, I wanted to share some exciting updates from Peace Valley Nature Center. Despite the chilly temperatures, our team has been hard at work preparing for the seasonal changes ahead.
Here are a few highlights:
Winter Wildlife Sightings: Our trails have been buzzing with activity as winter wildlife continues to thrive in their snowy habitats. From the graceful movements of deer to the playful antics of squirrels, there's always something new to discover during a winter stroll through our nature preserve.
Upcoming Events: We have some fantastic events planned for the coming weeks to help you reconnect with nature and learn more about the wonders of the natural world. Whether you're interested in helping Mother Earth, the science behind maple sugaring, or simply enjoying a guided bird walk, there's something for everyone to enjoy at Peace Valley.
Spring Programming Teasers: While we eagerly await the arrival of spring, our team is busy brainstorming and planning a variety of engaging programs and workshops for the upcoming season. From conservation education and family forays to tips for managing water on your property, we can't wait to share our love of nature with you in the weeks and months ahead.
Master Trail Plan & Signage: Our Trail Committee is close to completing the Master Trail Plan and we will seek funding to install an accessible trail. In addition, design for new trail signs is underway, and we hope to begin installation later this year.
We're looking forward to welcoming you to Peace Valley Nature Center soon to experience the magic of late winter and the promise of spring. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements in the coming weeks!
See you on the trails,
Kelly Joslin

Embracing the Subtle Signs of Spring: A Seasonal Awakening
As winter gradually relinquishes its icy grip, nature offers us a gentle reminder that change is in the air. While the vibrant blooms and balmy temperatures of spring may still be on the horizon, there are subtle signs emerging all around us...
Emerging from the snow covered ground, Skunk Cabbage is a seasonal reminder that spring is on the way.
