Director's Note
Dear Friends of Peace Valley Nature Center,
I hope this letter finds you healthy and enjoying the wonders of nature. We are writing to inform you of some upcoming changes at our beloved Nature Center that will enhance your future experiences with us.
After careful consideration and evaluation, the County of Bucks has decided that the Visitor Center will remain closed for renovations and remediation. This decision was made to ensure the safety and comfort of all our visitors, volunteers, and staff, as well as to improve our facilities to better serve you and future generations.
The renovations will include upgrades to our infrastructure, including a complete roof replacement. Additionally, we will undertake remediation efforts to address any environmental concerns. We anticipate work will begin May 20th and should conclude by the end of June. Access to the restrooms, bird blind, and trails closest to the visitor center may be limited during this time.
While we understand that the temporary closure may cause inconvenience, we believe that these improvements are necessary to uphold our commitment to environmental stewardship and provide you with the best possible experience at Peace Valley Nature Center.
Regularly scheduled programs will be held outdoors as weather conditions permit and summer camps will run as scheduled. Currently, the seed shed is open M-F, 9am-noon, but please check our website and social media for updates.
During this closure period, we encourage you to continue exploring and enjoying nature at Peace Valley Park and beyond. We will provide updates on our progress through our website, social media channels, and email newsletters, so please stay tuned for more information.
We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support during this time of transition. Your membership and dedication to our mission are what make our beloved Peace Valley Nature Center such a special place, and we look forward to welcoming you back to a revitalized and improved facility soon.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Thank you for your continued support, and we can't wait to see you again soon!
See you on the trails,
Kelly Joslin

WELCOME AMY RIMS!
In April we welcomed Amy Rims to our team at Peace Valley Nature Center. Amy will fill the important role of Office Manager and provide support to our Education Department, where she's already jumped in feet first to set up and lead programs.
From Nature Discovery Days to Wednesday Walkabouts, Firefly Walks to Saturday Morning Bird Walks, there are plenty of educational opportunities to choose from.
Join us in the pavilion* for a free, family-friendly day of discovery. We'll learn all about our incredible insect friends through self-guided activities and explorations.
No registration necessary
*Severe weather cancels event
MUSHROOM MEANDER
Saturday, June 8th 1 - 3pm
Join Bethany Teigen of the Philadelphia Mycology Club for a guided mushroom walk in the park. We will discuss how to find and identify mushrooms around us, as well as learn about their roles in our ecosystem.
Adults - join us in celebrating the longest day of the year and learn about the science and ancient tradition behind this sacred holiday. We will take a short walk at dusk, then gather around the campfire for some good old-fashioned story telling. Inclement weather cancels this event. Advance registration required.
Fireflies are the defining creature of summertime, so they deserve their own night! Our firefly walk is a family-friendly event centered around this bioluminescent cohabitant. You're sure to learn a lot and have a memorable time!
Bees are often synonymous with honeybees, but did you know that there's a diverse world of bees beyond the familiar honey producers? Native bees, often overshadowed by their honey-making counterparts, play crucial roles in pollination, ecosystem health, and biodiversity.
Bees are keystone species in many ecosystems, meaning they have a disproportionate impact on their environment
compared to their abundance. Their activities influence plant reproduction, soil health, and other ecological processes.
Are you passionate about the great outdoors? Do you want to make a positive impact on the environment? Join us as a volunteer at PVNC!
Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or just starting your journey, there are countless ways to get involved. From assisting with trail maintenance to leading educational programs, your enthusiasm and dedication can help us preserve and promote the beauty of nature.
Join our team of volunteers and be a part of something truly special this spring. Together, let's make a difference in our community and create memorable experiences for all who visit our center.
