April at Peace Valley Nature Center is a season of renewal, discovery, and growing excitement as spring arrives across the preserve. Wildflowers are beginning to bloom, migratory birds are returning, and the trails are coming alive with activity. It’s the perfect time to get outside, explore the changing landscape, and take part in the many programs and events happening at the Nature Center.
This spring also marks the start of our 50th anniversary celebrations, including the launch of Find Your Wild, an interactive Goosechase adventure that invites visitors to explore the park, complete nature-themed missions, and discover Peace Valley in new ways. Be sure to stay tuned for more details.
And don’t forget to save the date for our Annual Membership Meeting, a great opportunity to connect with fellow members, meet staff and board members, and celebrate the community that makes PVNC so special. As the season unfolds, we look forward to sharing more ways to explore, learn, and celebrate nature together.

Curious about birdwatching but not sure where to begin? This beginner-friendly program is the perfect place to start. We’ll kick things off with bagels and coffee while learning the basics of bird identification, including visual field marks, behavior clues, and recognition of common bird songs. Afterward, we’ll head outside to put our new skills to the test on the trails. Bring binoculars if you have them, and get ready to discover the fascinating birds of Peace Valley.
Join us for a special anniversary conversation with author Carolyn Constable as we reflect on the origins of Peace Valley Nature Center and celebrate the next 50 years. In an engaging discussion about her book, Carolyn will share stories, insights, and personal anecdotes that bring the early days of the Nature Center to life. Together, we’ll honor the vision that shaped Peace Valley, explore how it has grown over time, and look ahead to the future of conservation, community, and nature education in our region.
Celebrate 50 years of connecting people with nature by joining our Find Your Wild scavenger hunt. Explore the trails, uncover hidden wonders, and complete fun, family-friendly challenges that bring you closer to the natural world around you.
Whether you're a curious first-time visitor or a longtime friend of PVNC, there’s something new to discover with every step.

Bring your students to Peace Valley Nature Center for an immersive, hands-on environmental education field trip across 750 acres of vibrant fields, forests, and aquatic habitats, led by our knowledgeable Teacher Naturalists. Spots fill up quickly, so reserve your spring field trip today and let us help make science come alive outdoors!
Every trail you walk, program you enjoy, and moment of discovery you experience at Peace Valley Nature Center is made possible by the generosity of our community. As a valued member, you play an important role in helping us care for this special place.
If you’re able, please consider making a donation to support our education programs, habitat stewardship, and ongoing improvements to the Nature Center. Every contribution—no matter the size—helps us continue connecting people with nature today and for generations to come.
