May is one of the most beautiful times of year at Peace Valley Nature Center. Wildflowers are blooming throughout the preserve, migratory birds have returned, and the trails are alive with the sights and sounds of spring. It’s the perfect season to get outside, explore the changing landscape, and enjoy everything happening at PVNC.
Be sure to stop by the Nature Center to try our latest I Wonder Nature Challenge, browse the used book sale, experience the colors and fragrances of the new rain garden, or look for the striking rose-breasted grosbeaks that have returned for the season.
This month also features the Bucks County Plein Air Painters exhibit and our annualNative Plant Sale—two wonderful opportunities to celebrate nature, art, and conservation together. And don’t forget toFind Your Wild through our Goosechase adventure, with new missions dropping each week!

Join us at Peace Valley Nature Center for the opening of a beautiful new exhibition by the Bucks County Plein Air Painters!
From May 9–28, the Nature Center will feature original landscape paintings inspired by the beauty of Bucks County and the surrounding countryside. Even better, a portion of all artwork sales will directly support PVNC’s environmental education programs.
Stop by for the Artist Reception on Saturday, May 9 from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM! Meet the artists, enjoy light refreshments, and explore the collection inside the cozy Nature Center.
Plus, don’t miss live plein air painting demonstrations on May 16 from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM, where visitors can watch artists at work and learn more about this traditional outdoor painting style.

Nature Discovery Day - Incredible Insects

Barbara "Bluejay" Michalski will discuss the past, present and future of the Lenape people, explaining how she keeps her upbringing in the Lenape culture and continues her role as caretaker in her homeland. Bluejay will encourage ways that nurture a peaceful relationship with the environment, and will have culture items for display and viewing. Open discussion and questions are welcome.
Join us for an engaging evening conversation with a panel of local birders as we explore the past, present, and future of birding at Peace Valley Nature Center. Panelists will share stories from the early days of birding in the park, discuss current projects, and reflect on how birding and bird conservation continue to evolve in our region. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or simply curious about the birds that call Peace Valley home, this informal discussion offers a unique opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with fellow bird enthusiasts.
Experience the magic of twilight on our Sunset Nature Walk! Join our knowledgeable guide for a peaceful stroll through scenic trails as the sky fills with vibrant sunset colors. Discover local wildlife, plants, and listen to the sounds of nature as daytime transitions to night. Don’t miss this serene journey as the forest comes to life in the glow of the setting sun.
