Tales
December 2022
Welcome to the new Dove Tales, a monthly e-blast to our most ardent supporters of PVNC. Here you’ll find links to upcoming programs, volunteer and membership news, and updates on projects. We hope this provides the resources you need to stay informed and engaged!
Director’s Notes
A lot has happened at the Nature Center in the last six months. We’ve updated the coffee bar, added new self-guided activities, refreshed the puppet theater, and cleaned the gardens. Our Project Birdfeeder campaign collected funds to update and upgrade the feeding stations around the Nature Center. This will be completed by spring 2023. New merchandise continues to arrive in our Sunflower Gift Shop weekly. We invite you to stop by, say “Hi,” and see all the changes.
New projects for 2023 include the installation of a Nature Play Zone, courtesy of a generous grant from Foundations Community Partnership, and a funding campaign to replace the highly trafficked Hardiaken Creek footbridge. In addition, we’ve received a grant from Visit Bucks County that would allow us to update our trail map, install trail signs, interpretive panels, and native plant teaching gardens around the Nature Center. More information about this project is found below.
We thank you for your continued support and wish you Happy Holidays and a joyous New Year!
We’re excited to announce we received a grant from Visit Bucks County to expand nature tourism and educational experiences at Peace Valley Nature Center. The grant funds, combined with a generous donation from the Friends of Peace Valley Nature Center, will cover two-thirds of the total project cost. Our goal is to raise the additional $20,000 to complete the project with help from our supportive community.
Will you help us to improve our gardens and trails?
Curious about how to get involved? Here's your chance! We are looking for volunteers to help run the Visitors Center. For more information, call or email our volunteer coordinator:
