Director's Note
Summer is officially behind us and we’ve kicked off the start of autumn with our biggest fundraiser of the year. The 7th Annual Fall Harvest Sampler took place on Sept. 29th and what a night it was! The event hosted its largest crowd to date and raised more than $35,000 in support of PVNC. Thanks to all who attended, sponsored, or made a donation. We truly appreciate each of you!
The Friends of PVNC continue to source funds through programs, events, online campaigns, and grant opportunities. The Trail & Garden Revitalization campaign is just $6,000 away from full funding. This campaign, combined with a grant from Visit Bucks County, will fund the installation of educational gardens around the nature center, including a rain garden and bird/pollinator-friendly garden, as well as a new map and interpretive signs. Installation will occur in 2024. Click here if you’d like to make a donation.
Grant applications have been submitted for the rehabilitation of the Evergreen Trail and Pond Path, a new water bottle filling station/drinking fountain at the Visitor Center, and for a Trailside Naturalist program. We will continue to focus our efforts on improving the visitor experience and expanding our educational reach in 2024.
We’ll celebrate one of our successful grant-funded projects, The Nature Play Zone, with a dedication ceremony at 11:00 am on Saturday, October, 28th. Located a short distance from the main parking lot on the Evergreen Trail, the Nature Play Zone provides a place for kids (and kids at heart) to explore, play, and discover nature at their own pace. The project would not have happened without the generous support of Foundations Community Partnership, Indigenous Ingenuities, Wehrung’s Cares LLC, and the Friends of Peace Valley Nature Center. We hope you’ll join us as we thank these organizations, businesses, and other individuals who helped make this project a reality.
